Jeanine was then offered an academic position at The University of Melbourne in 2000, and was trained under Emeritus Professor KVF Jubb, and other American board certified pathologists whilst in Melbourne.  She successfully passed Membership examinations in the Pathobiology chapter in 2002, with the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists (ANZCVS).  In 2008, she was granted a scholarship from the Australian Biosecurity CRC for Emerging Infectious Disease, offered by the Federal Government, which enabled her to travel to America with her family, to undertake further specialist training in anatomic pathology.

She worked at North Carolina State University as a clinical instructor 2009- 2010, before successfully passing the DACVP examinations in 2010 in anatomic pathology. She returned to her academic position at The Melbourne University in 2011, as a senior lecturer in Pathology. In 2014, she made the move back to her home state of Queensland to commence work with QML as a diagnostic pathologist.

Jeanine has always wanted to be a pathologist, and enjoys the cut and thrust of diagnostic pathology. She really enjoys speaking with and helping clinicians, especially with difficult/challenging cases. Jeanine has extensive resourcing networks across the globe, which she calls on from time to time to help with difficult cases. Jeanine has been happily married since 1994 and has 2 amazing children.  She enjoys gardening, playing with her dogs, baking, travel and singing.
